This lava tube on the outside of Nookie Island offers experienced divers the opportunity to see some of the best soft corals and gorgonian fans in the area. The tube starts at a depth of 18 m / 60 ft as a large hole in the reef. The inside of the tube is lined with small white soft corals and a variety of lacy hard corals. At about 30m / 100ft the tube turns towards the outer reef and slopes down another 10m / 30ft before you exit the tube into the vast blue ocean. This is an awesome dive for the serious photographer - imagine coming down the tube towards the exit with a turtle passing in the blue. Purple and red soft corals and dark pink sea whips frame the exit while huge gorgonian fans hang on the cliffs with orange, yellow, brown and black crinoids dancing in the current. A large pancake anemone hosting several colourful shrimps is found just outside the tube.
