Magic Pinnacle

Magic pinnacle is situated at the large orange buoy, right in front of the main bure. This seemingly uninteresting coral bommie is teeming with life and houses several unusual critter species. A variety of scorpion fish, including red firefish, zebra lionfish, dwarf lionfish, ragged-fin firefish and Mozambique scorpionfish, are among the species found in this small area. Banded pipefish, stonefish, flatworms, nudibranchs and even the rare Pegasus seamoth find a home so near to shore. Don’t forget to look in the crevices for banded coral shrimp and elusive moray eels. Trevally, schools of rabbit fish, black spot snapper, large paddle tail snapper and needlefish can all be seen. This site is best dived during the incoming tide – be prepared to spend over an hour at Magic Pinnacle, mesmerized by all the marine life.
