Bird Island Wall

Max depth: 33m / 110ft General profile: 21m / 70ft for 25min; 12m / 40ft for 20 min

This dive is characterized by many sand patches where elusive garden eels and blennies sharing their homes with blind shrimp, test the patients of macro photographers! The inner reef starts at about 13m and gently slopes down to 18m where the outer reef plunges into the blue. White tip reef sharks and eagle rays are often spotted along the wall. Large schools of hump head unicorn fish and banded batfish hang around in the open ocean while ocean trigger fish use the sandy areas to build “rubble nests” and protect their eggs with aggression. In the shallower areas you will find many lionfish, moray eels, Christmas tree worms, cushion starfish and spotted stingrays.
